I think it was John Scott in Deadbase 10 who claims he bought an aud tape of the 2/11/70 show in the parking lot of a dead show, and it contains the missing portion of Dark Star. i've yet to see it in circulation with the aud patch...

thanks captain and wharfrat for checking these out. I'll confess that I've been a little confused by the etree system - but the full listing of recorded shows makes sense to me at least. I've signed up with etrade request and so far have seen a lot of daily offers but not a lot of requests so I wasn't sure that was the forum for things like this (and don't want to get on anyone's nerves). I'll look deeper into the etree bit torrent and its relation to this site and etree in general. thanks again

The best bet for going directly after a specific show or version of a show is to click through db.etree.org to "find users with this show" or "find users with this source", then start emailing to inquire for a trade after choosing the right potential trading partner from the list. Good luck!

thanks diana. we'll see if some of my audience tapes recorded to cassette from a friend with a slow running tape deck in 1987 will be enough to entice a fellow trader :) Looking back at those tapes and comparing with what's going on in the archive is mind boggling. The amount of effort required back then for 100th gen copies was astounding. thanks again for your work on the archive.

I have a few 20 year old cassettes of the rare "Chipmunks sing the songs of the Grateful Dead" or at least that's what it sounds like, if your looking for trades :o

My gosh, the patched copies DO circulate! I just noticed that after checking out the etree site. Man, I need to get me one of those.
